about us

Our Story

When it comes to the environment Saveawatt is putting our money where our mouth is. We are not just helping customers reduce their carbon footprint, we are doing our bit to off set our carbon emissions.

Saveawatt is proud to contribute towards the conservation initiatives at Children’s Bay Park, Akaroa. For over 10 years Saveawatt has been helping kiwi businesses save on their energy bills. By engaging us you are now helping this wonderful conservation project achieve it’s goals of planting another 25,000 native plants over the next 10 years. You will also be helping maintain free public walking tracks and controlling pests, which impact the local native birds.

Since Saveawatt's inception in 2009, we have helped thousands of New Zealand businesses save millions of dollars on energy costs. Through continual development, we have devised a Specialised Energy Bulk Tender:

The National Energy Tender uses the collective buying power of a group to leverage the lowest possible prices for electricity & gas. We group your business together with other large users and submit a massive amount of energy to an open market tender. 20 power companies fight to earn your business, the lowest price wins. Next, our energy experts review and reconfigure your meter to ensure you are purchasing electricity in the most cost-effective way for your specific consumption patterns.

The whole framework has been designed so it requires minimal time and input from our busy customers

We serve residential too!

Our Initiatives

Saveawatt extended its services into the residential sector and introduced New Zealand households to Frank – the worlds first free intelligent digital personal power assistant. Frank manages your electricity supply by finding the best available price, switches you to the best retail plan without repeatedly filling in forms, and regularly checks to make sure you always have the best electricity deal for your household.

Saveawatt partnered with Stuff to promote New Zealand’s Big Winter Switch. Also a first for residential power consumers, New Zealand’s Big Winter Switch is a bulk tender process that aims to simplify a complex industry by bringing New Zealanders together to seek improved electricity offers and provide electricity retailers with new customers.

Saveawatt was proud to bring the globally successful One Big Switch movement to New Zealand. One Big Switch is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing consumer organisations with over a million members. One Big Switch currently operates in Ireland, the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
